Happy Monday FORCE Families!  

The blog has minimal updates this week, but we wanted to remind you that our Library Books are now able to be checked out and will safely be circulated by our librarian and through materials distribution days.  Also, this Thursday and Friday, YEARBOOKS will be in the MPR for pickup at your usual materials pick up spot of your child's teacher!

We hope you have a great week of distance learning and remember to reach out with any questions or needs of support!

    Hello Fiddyment Farm Force!

     

    The library is now available to check out books!  Destiny Discover gives online access to our library catalog. It allows you to view and select any book the Fiddyment Farm Library has to offer.

    Some important items to note while using our new online catalog:

    1. You can select up to 2 books to put on hold at a time. After 2, it will not let you hold anymore.

    2. Only ONE graphic novel per student.

    3. You cannot "unhold" a book after it's been selected. The program does not allow you to do this, so please make your selection(s) carefully.

    4. Once you place your books on hold, Mrs. Enos will pull your selections off the shelf, check them out to you and leave them on your teacher’s table in the MultiPurpose Room.  You may pick the books up during Materials Distribution hours (Thursdays 3-6 p.m. and Fridays 9 a.m.-12 p.m.).

    5. Books must be placed on hold by 12 p.m. Thursday to guarantee they will be in the Multipurpose Room for pick up that same week.

    6. When you are done with your books, please return them to the library cart in the MultiPurpose Room during the next Materials Distribution times. Please be sure to put new books on hold if you'd like to pick up new books while returning your old ones.  

    7. Books will be quarantined for 7 days once they are returned, before being checked out to other students.  Please note that returned books will remain on your account while they are quarantined.  You can still check out other new books.

    8. Books can be checked out for a 3-week maximum. 

    9. You are responsible for the safety of your books while you have them.  If a book is damaged, you are responsible for the replacement cost.

    REMINDER!

    Our Multi Purpose Room will be open WEEKLY with the OPTION for Grade Level Teams to use it to distribute materials and/or collect completed work.  

    EACH GRADE LEVEL TEAM will communicate with their families when specific distribution and collection days will be.

    (Example - Kindergarten may have materials to pick up every week, but 4th grade may only need to get materials out every 2-3 weeks.)

    The MPR will be open:
    EVERY THURSDAY from 3pm -6pm
    &
    EVERY FRIDAY from 9am - 12pm.

    All families that are INFORMED by their teachers to pick up materials or drop off work can come anytime on these days during these times.  (You may have a week or 2 when you are not informed by your child's teacher to pick up or drop off.) 

    Here are the guidelines for parents:

    • Parents will line up outside the door of the MPR (distanced 6 ft apart)
    • We will regulate the amount of people in the MPR . (Ex. when full, when 2 people leave, 2 people will then be let in and so forth)
    • Everyone entering the MPR will be required to wear a face covering
    • We ask that if possible, you PLEASE do not bring children with you, unless you have no other option.
    If you are UNABLE to make it to the MPR during the two days and two time windows, the materials will be left for you to pick up the FOLLOWING WEEK's Materials Distribution/Collection!

    Any questions for clarification around Materials Deployment/Collection, please reach out to your child's teacher and we will do our best to support!

    We hope distance learning is going as smooth as possible for all of you!  Remember, we know that every family's situation and environment is different, and we will always do our best to help support and accommodate to make things possible for the success of our students!

    HERE ARE SOME TECHNOLOGY REMINDERS:

    Need a Chromebook still? 

     We have plenty!  If you are struggling with a slow device, an iPad or something that is just not working for you, please let us know.  We have enough Chromebooks for every student - feel free to call the office (916-771-1880) or stop by and we can help you out!


    Did you get insurance for the Chromebook you loaned out? 

    If you are interested in purchasing insurance for the Chromebook you loaned out, you can get insurance to cover yourself from any unfortunate accidents at home.

    If you are interested in learning more about iReady and how to best support your child with the online program:



    Need Technology Support?

    During Distance Learning, families can request technical support for issues related to:


    • Learning Applications
    • Forgotten usernames and/or passwords
    • Not receiving District emails
    • District Provided Mobile Device Support
    • Registration Support
    If you need assistance in any of these areas, finding support is as easy as filling out a simple form and someone from the technology department will be contacting you to help!

    Happy Labor Day Fiddyment FORCE Families!  

    The blog has minimal updates this week, but we wanted to remind you of the SCHEDULE CHANGE starting tomorrow (9-8) - and we have left up all the info in the blog on materials pickup, technology support, family support, and there's info on Fiddyment's first SPIRIT DAY this Friday - Pajama Day!

    We hope you have a great week of distance learning and remember to reach out with any questions or needs of support!

      REMINDER our Bell Schedule will be changing
      Beginning - TOMORROW - SEPTEMBER 8th 

      NO CHANGE to start and end times of the school day!

      RECESS BREAK Change - Every student will take a "recess" break from 10:25am - 10:40am

      LUNCH BREAK Change - Every student will take their lunch break from 12:00pm - 1:00pm

      PE & Music times are changed - Your child's teacher will share those times with you!

      Your child's teacher schedule will be different as they had to adapt to new PE, Music, Recess, and Lunch time.  

      LESS SCREEN TIME at the end of the day - Tuesday THROUGH Friday - All live in person teaching will end at 2:00pm (earlier for TK/K)Students will be expected to continue school work on independent practice/PE/Music until the end of the school day.

      Fiddyment Farm SPIRIT DAY!
      Our first spirit day is this Friday, September 11th. - Look for the Facebook post on Friday morning to comment/share your photos of you in ending a distance learning week in your most awesome PJs!  How fitting!

      The district is serving lunch/breakfast combo meals between 11:30 and 1:00 on a daily basis at the following sites:
      Cirby, Woodbridge, Buljan, Eich and Crestmont
      If you would like to pick up multiple meals at one time, just ask the food services staff at the lunch site.  Don’t forget about our nutritious and delicious meals!
